Slide Thru is a social app that helps you find people to join your plans or discover activities to join. Our tagline “YOLO not SOLO” captures our mission: life’s too short for solo plans. Whether you want to grab coffee, see a movie, or go hiking, Slide Thru connects you with people who want to do the same things.

How is Slide Thru different from other social/event apps?

Slide Thru uniquely combines the best elements of several platforms: the spontaneity and openness of Craigslist for posting any plan, the community-building aspects of Discord with our server feature, and the social profiles of dating apps/social media. We’re specifically designed for college students and young adults looking to make everyday activities more social, with a focus on spontaneous, in-the-moment connections rather than formal events planned far in advance.

Who is Slide Thru for?

Slide Thru is primarily designed for anyone who wants to be more active and do interesting things with others. It’s perfect for anyone who’s new to a city, looking to expand their social circle, or just wants to turn solo activities into shared experiences.

Is Slide Thru free to use?

Yes! Slide Thru operates on a freemium model. The basic features are completely free, allowing you to create and join plans, participate in communities, and build your profile. Premium features, such as boosting your plans for more visibility or accessing advanced filters, require coins or a premium subscription.

Account Questions

How do I create an account?

Download the Slide Thru app from the App Store or Google Play, then sign up using your email, phone number, or social media accounts. You’ll be prompted to create a profile with your interests, a photo, and basic information to help connect you with like-minded people.

What is the verification system and how does it work?
Our verification system has multiple levels to ensure safety and trust:
  • Basic verification: Email and phone number verification
  • Photo verification: Match your profile photo to a real-time selfie
  • Social media verification: Link your established social media accounts
  • ID verification: Our highest level of verification requires government ID
Users can choose which level of verification they’re comfortable with, and can filter plans and communities based on verification levels.
Can I use Slide Thru anonymously?

While you need to create a profile to use Slide Thru, you control how much information you share. However, to build trust in the community, we encourage users to verify their profiles. You can always choose who sees your full profile information.

How do I edit my profile?

Tap on your profile icon, then select “Edit Profile” to update your photos, interests, bio, and other information. You can also adjust your privacy settings and verification level from your profile page.

Plans/Events Questions

How do I create a plan on Slide Thru?

Tap the “+” button on the home screen, then select “Create Plan.” Fill in the details about what you’re doing, when and where it’s happening, how many people you’re looking for, and whether it’s public or private. You can add photos, tags, and other details to make your plan stand out.

What's the difference between public and private plans?
Public plans are visible to everyone on Slide Thru, and anyone can request to join (though you still approve who joins). Private plans are only visible to people you specifically invite or share the plan with. For private plans, the location and specific details are only revealed to approved participants.
How do I join someone else's plan?

Browse available plans on the home screen or search for specific types of activities. When you find a plan you’d like to join, tap “Request to Join” and add a brief message to the host. If approved, you’ll receive a notification and gain access to the plan details and group chat.

Can I cancel a plan after creating it?

Yes, you can cancel a plan at any time. We encourage hosts to give participants as much notice as possible if plans change. Frequent cancellations may affect your user rating.

Are there any restrictions on the types of plans I can create?

Slide Thru is designed for social activities and meetups. Plans must comply with our community guidelines and terms of service. Prohibited activities include illegal activities, commercial solicitation, or anything that violates our safety policies. We encourage users to report any inappropriate plans.

Community Questions

What are communities on Slide Thru?

Communities are similar to Discord servers—they’re groups organized around shared interests, schools, neighborhoods, or activities. Communities can have multiple channels for different topics and can organize events specifically for community members.

How do I create or join a community?
To join a community, browse the “Communities” tab and request to join any that interest you. To create your own community, tap the “+” button on the Communities tab and follow the setup instructions to name your community, set privacy options, and create channels.
Can I be part of multiple communities?

Absolutely! You can join as many communities as you’d like. Your community feed will show activities and discussions from all your communities.

How are communities moderated?

Communities are primarily moderated by their creators and designated moderators. Slide Thru also has platform-wide community guidelines and our support team reviews reported content or behavior. Community creators can set their own additional rules and guidelines.

Safety Questions

How does Slide Thru ensure user safety?
Safety is our top priority. We use multiple approaches:
  • Verification system with multiple levels
  • In-app reporting for inappropriate content or behavior
  • Community guidelines and moderation
  • User ratings and reviews
  • Option to meet in public places
  • Emergency contact features
  • Block and mute functions
What should I do if I feel uncomfortable during a plan?

How can I report inappropriate behavior?
You can report any user, plan, or message by tapping the three dots in the corner of the content and selecting “Report.” Our team reviews all reports promptly and takes appropriate action according to our community guidelines.
Does Slide Thru screen users?

While we don’t conduct background checks on all users, our verification system helps establish identity and build trust. Users with higher verification levels have provided more information to confirm their identity. We encourage users to meet in public places and take normal safety precautions when meeting new people.

How do I update the app?
Slide Thru updates automatically through your device’s app store, or you can manually check for updates in the App Store or Google Play Store.
